Update: 1-30-2020
A note from the new commissioners: Welcome to GCKA Spring Softball. You are probably wondering with new leaders what is going to change and what will stay the same.
First we want to thank you for your interest in having your child(ren) participate in the GCKA Softball program!
There will be a few changes to this years' softball league. Most significantly being that all regular season games will be scheduled for Saturday doubleheaders, with rainout makeups to be determined. This will allow teams to continue to practice twice a week (either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday evenings) throughout the regular season.
Also to be noted; we are aware that the beginning of the softball practice schedule will conflict with the end of GCKA Soccer schedule. Please do not let this discourage you from signing your child up for softball. We encourage you to finish out the remainder of the soccer season and attempt to make the first few weeks of softball practices if possible and at your discretion, just please keep your coaches informed.
Please read through the website entirely as many questions you may have will be answered here. Rules and guidelines for the league listed on the website will be followed with no exceptions. Requests listed on registrations such as preferred practice nights/times or preferred coaches/players/teammates will be granted to the best of our ability but not outside of the guidelines listed on the site. A link is provided to the 2020 GCKA Softball rules at the end of this page.
Lastly, and most importantly, this is a recreational softball league. Coaches will be given guidance to ensure teaching, safety, and fun before competitiveness. Arguing with umpires, coaches, players, or spectators will not be tolerated. Violators will be asked to leave the fields and potentially banned.
Again, thank you for your interest in the GCKA Softball program. We look forward to a great season!
Commissioners,
Kevin Andrews and Brandon Harr
